LabQom acquires a controlling stake in sQube-Bio Healthcare Pvt Ltd, a company located in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India, that specializes in manufacturing labware and plasticware for handling all kinds of biological specimens with state-of-art high-precision molding infrastructure.
LabQom intends to launch a complete range of pre-analytical tools and position itself as a complete biological specimen handling company. The acquisition of sQube-Bio is a significant step towards this mission. Initially, sQube will focus on Class A IVD products and then move towards Class B IVD products and medical devices.
LabQom recognizes that the struggle in diagnostics starts with the non-standard use of collection devices for blood, stool, urine, sputum, and other labware. Up to 61% of laboratory issues are associated with the pre-analytical phase in the lab, with 33% of the errors being linked to test request forms, 18% with sample collection, and 3% with sample processing in the laboratory.
LabQom empathizes with the burden on the public due to errors in sample collection and aims to take the first step in addressing this issue.
Brijesh Sawlani, CEO and Founder of LabQom, indicated that the company should be ready with its first range of QMS-compliant blood collection range under the brand “Qube” in December 2023 once the expansion of the factory is complete, construction of which will commence post-acquisition formalities.
